The Village Place stands as a beacon of
hope, resilience, and community-driven change
for Austin's Black residents.
By providing a space that celebrates culture, promotes empowerment, and encourages collaboration, this initiative has the potential to transform lives, bridge gaps, and cultivate a thriving village within the heart of the city. Through partnerships, support, and shared vision, The Village Place aims to create a more inclusive and equitable Austin for generations to come.
Our Purpose
-
Sisiterhood & Social Support
We provide a vibrant and inclusive space for Black moms to connect, fostering deep relationships through playdates, mom meet-ups, family camping trips, and specialized groups addressing mental health, parenting teens, and the empty nest stage.
-
Economic Empowerment
Recognizing the diverse needs of our village, we offer essential financial education and assistance via our emergency fund. We also serve as a dynamic marketing platform for small businesses while providing expert resource navigation and referrals.
-
Cultural Enrichment
Above all, we are untied by the shared journey of motherhood. Our community celebrates Black culture and promotes a sense of belonging in Austin, nurturing a vibrant cultural identity within our families.
-
Community Engagement
'The Village Place' actively engages with and supports our local community. Our Austin-based hub connects Black moms and their families to vital resources, opportunities, and a network of support.
